A rating system
we built ourselves.
Influencers rarely agree on how to score a meal — some rate out of ten, some just rave, some quietly never mention a place again. So we built our own system that reads the whole review, not just the number. It weighs several factors together to land on one honest verdict for each restaurant and each dish.
When a tastemaker gives a clear score — 9 out of 10, a perfect rating, a hard pass — we start there. Their stated verdict is the strongest signal we have.
Most reviews never land on a number. So we read the whole take — the tone, the enthusiasm, the hesitation — and weigh the sentiment behind the words to understand how a creator really felt.
A place can nail one dish and fumble the next. We weigh sentiment dish by dish, not just restaurant-wide, so a standout plate gets its due even when the rest is just fine.
When several tastemakers cover the same restaurant, we blend their verdicts into one combined score — so a place's rating reflects the people who actually ate there, not a single loud opinion.
Interpreting someone's taste from a video or a caption is hard, and our read of a creator's verdict isn't always 100% accurate. If a rating or a dish looks off to you, tell us — you can report inaccurate information right from the app, and a real person reviews every report.
