why Social Foodie

Built for creators who take food seriously.

Your verdicts carry weight

However you score, our algorithm translates your takes into one of six labels — NOPE to ELITE. People know exactly where you stand, in a system that's consistent across every tastemaker.

An audience ready to act

Foodies on Social Foodie follow tastemakers to decide where to eat tonight. When your coverage is on the platform, it drives real foot traffic.

Hyper-local reach

Your coverage surfaces in the city's Hot feed, in Eats search, and to every Foodie near the restaurant. Your take drives real decisions.

All your platforms, one place

Your food content from across all social media platforms is organized under your Tastemaker profile. Foodies see all your picks in one place, searchable by city and cuisine.

A permanent catalog

Social videos get buried. On Social Foodie, your picks live on each restaurant's profile indefinitely — building a catalog of your best coverage, not just a feed.

Editorial picks can't be bought

Tastemaker verdicts are never paid for. Any ads or boosted placements are clearly labeled and kept entirely separate from editorial coverage.

how to get on the platform

Suggest, we review,
they get added.

  1. Who are we missing?

Fill out the form with their platforms, handle, and food point of view. Tell us what makes their taste distinct and what they actually cover.

  2. We review your coverage

Our editorial team reviews your content for consistency — do you name the place, say what you tried, and land on a clear verdict?

  3. You're added to the roster

Selected tastemakers are added to the curated platform. Their restaurant coverage goes live, and Foodies can start following their taste.

  4. Your catalog grows

Your Tastemaker profile builds with your restaurant coverage over time — a permanent, searchable record of your best picks.

what we look for

The Social Foodie standard.

We are selective because the platform's value depends on who is on it. Here is what we look for — and what we do not allow.

Real food content

You post about restaurants, dishes, or food culture regularly — not just occasionally.

An established presence

At minimum: a consistent posting history and an audience that engages with your takes.

A genuine point of view

You have opinions. You'll say NOPE when something is NOPE, and you've done so before.

Consistent reviews

You name the place, say what you ordered, and land on a clear verdict. That consistency is what we curate around.

Not exclusively sponsored

If your feed is majority brand deals, we're probably not the right fit — and that's okay.

No vague takes

We can curate a verdict from 'this place was vibes.', but we prefer not to. Specific opinions about specific dishes are what make your profile useful.

Being featured on Social Foodie does not create any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement between you and Social Foodie. Tastemaker profiles are editorially curated by our team from publicly available content, and reference your name and handle for factual, identification purposes only. Creators can request removal at any time — see our Terms of Service.

creator questions

Things creators ask us.

Do I need a minimum follower count?

We don't ask for your follower count and we don't rank by it. What we look for is the quality of your point of view and the consistency of your reviews — do you name the place, say what you tried, and give a real verdict? A creator with 3k followers and sharp, consistent takes will always beat one with 500k who posts vague impressions.

Do I upload my own reviews to the app?

No — Social Foodie's editorial team curates restaurant coverage from your existing content across all social media platforms. You do not post directly to the app. After approval, your Tastemaker profile is built from the food content you are already creating.

Do I get paid for being featured?

Not directly for individual coverage. What you gain is a permanent, searchable catalog of your restaurant picks in front of an audience actively deciding where to eat — the kind of genuine influence that builds real brand value and restaurant relationships over time.

Can restaurants pay to be featured on my profile?

No — tastemaker verdicts can't be bought. No restaurant can pay for placement, better ratings, or any kind of editorial positioning on Social Foodie. If we ever introduce ads or boosted placements, they will be clearly labeled and kept entirely separate from your coverage.

What happens after a suggestion is accepted?

We will reach out to the creator to confirm and get their Tastemaker profile set up. Their restaurant coverage will go live on the platform, and Foodies can start following their taste. We will stay in touch as their profile grows over time.
