Terms of Service

Welcome to Social Foodie. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Social Foodie mobile application and the socialfoodieapp.com website (together, the “Service”), owned and operated by 712 West LLC (“712 West,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Social Foodie is a product of 712 West LLC. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Social Foodie is a restaurant discovery platform. Our editorial team curates restaurant coverage from food creators across all social media platforms, and organises it into a searchable, tastemaker-driven experience. Users can browse tastemaker picks, follow the creators whose taste they trust, save restaurants, and react to reviews.

Tastemaker verdicts on the platform are editorially determined. We apply our own algorithm to translate a creator's coverage into one of six labels — NOPE, MEH, MID, SNACK, BANGER, or ELITE — for consistency across the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at support@socialfoodieapp.com.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. What you can do

Subject to these Terms, you may:

• Browse and search the platform, including as a guest without an account.
• Follow tastemakers whose coverage you want to track.
• Save restaurants to your personal list.
• React to reviews (agree, disagree, or mark “going next”).
• Customise your notification preferences and discovery settings.
• Report inaccurate or problematic listing data.
• Submit a request to be added to the tastemaker roster.

5. What you cannot do

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our servers, or any third-party systems connected to the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content from the Service without our prior written permission.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Impersonate any person, tastemaker, or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or engage in any other abusive conduct.
• Attempt to manipulate platform data, tastemaker ratings, or editorial coverage.

6. Content on the platform

All tastemaker reviews, ratings, restaurant profiles, and featured content on Social Foodie are produced or curated by our editorial team. This content is the property of 712 West LLC or the respective creators and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Editorial and curated content. Social Foodie is an independent editorial publication. The tastemaker profiles, verdicts, summaries, and commentary you see are original works of authorship created by our editorial team based on publicly available social media coverage. They reflect our own good-faith editorial judgment and do not represent statements made by, or on behalf of, the featured creators.

No affiliation or endorsement. Social Foodie is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or otherwise connected to any of the food creators, restaurants, or brands featured on the platform. Reference to a creator, restaurant, or brand — including by name, handle, or logo — is for identification and factual, informational purposes only and does not imply any partnership, association, or endorsement in either direction.

Fair use. Where we display a creator's name, handle, likeness, thumbnails, or excerpts of their publicly posted content, and where we reference factual information about restaurants and reviews, we do so for purposes such as commentary, criticism, reporting, and editorial curation. We believe this use of factual and publicly available material constitutes fair use under applicable copyright law. Facts, ratings data, and factual restaurant information (such as names, locations, and hours) are not themselves protected by copyright.

We license and use content from food creators in accordance with the terms of their respective social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube). If you are a creator who believes your content has been used in a way that violates your rights, please contact us at support@socialfoodieapp.com and we will review and, where appropriate, remove the content.

Third-party ratings (e.g., Yelp) displayed on restaurant detail screens are provided by those services under their own terms and may not reflect Social Foodie's editorial position.

7. Tastemaker suggestions

Food creators may be suggested for listing on the platform via the suggestion form. Submitting a suggestion does not guarantee inclusion. We review suggestions at our sole discretion based on editorial criteria including content quality, consistency, and genuine point of view.

If selected, the creator's publicly available restaurant content may be curated and summarised by our editorial team and added to their Tastemaker profile on Social Foodie. Creators may request removal of their profile at any time by contacting support@socialfoodieapp.com.

8. Advertising and commercial placements

Tastemaker verdicts and editorial restaurant coverage are never paid for and cannot be purchased. Any advertising or boosted placement features we may introduce in the future will be clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial content.

9. Intellectual property

The Social Foodie name, logo, wordmark, rating system, and all original content and software are owned by or licensed to 712 West LLC and may not be used without our prior written consent. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service as described here.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Restaurant information (hours, addresses, menus, ratings) is provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee its accuracy or completeness. Always verify directly with the restaurant before visiting.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 712 WEST LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Some icons used in the Social Foodie app are provided by third parties under their respective licenses:
